"Manitoba Crab"
This tree graces the lawn of my parent's old home. To me, it represents my mother, a proud Manitoban. |
"The Point"
This painting was the first time I painted on a larger canvas in this particular style. I thought it would be far slower than the small ones, but in fact, it went much more quickly. The point is a favourite view from the hillside overlooking the Mira River. |
"Red Spruce". There are well over 60 hours in this piece. I drew with a waterproof ink pen right onto the canvas embracing any mistakes made while observational drawing - and let me tell you, there are many. Again, just as in "Masts", I painted with a sized "0" paintbrush.

"Masts" This was a fun piece to do. It involved observational drawing in black waterproof ink before painting. The viewer's ability to see the initial lines was important to me, so I painted with a "0" paint brush.
